CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AT RISK
The Sacred Heart Catholic School addition is a shining example of the benefits of construction management at risk (CMAR). Sacred Heart School faced the problem of a growing student body and a need for more room to put those extra students. North Sky Construction worked closely with the owners and architects to figure out how to get the most square footage and value out of Sacred Heart’s budget for the project.
North Sky worked as the CMAR for the multi-level addition, which added six elementary school classrooms, a preschool room, bathrooms, and a commons area. The project was completed while school was in session, requiring a strong need for safety and security on the job site. North Sky worked closely with Sacred Heart School administrators and owner representatives to minimize the impact of the construction on the school’s daily operation. Construction included a concrete foundation, masonry exterior walls with face brick, light gauge stud framing, EIFS, burnished block, terrazzo flooring in common areas, and tile carpet in classrooms and preschool room.
