DESIGN BUILD
North Sky Construction was hired as a design-build contractor to provide updates to domestic water systems at six Land Port of Entries along the Canadian border in rural North Dakota. The focus of the projects was to update the water treatment systems to increase the water quality to a consumable level. The existing treatment systems at the entries were failing to treat the water adequately resulting in the water not being able to be consumed by workers. Treatment trains were installed, resulting in the water being raised to a quality that can be consumed. At some locations, the buildings’ domestic water systems were able to be connected to newly installed rural water systems. Work was also performed on the water control systems that monitor water levels in holding tanks at the Entries. North Sky also performed some exterior civil work at the entries. Through the design-build efforts of North Sky, the upgrades were performed on time and on budget.
